Membership
The Overseas Women’s Club of Madras (OWC) was founded in 1972 as a support group for expatiate women living in the city of Madras (now known as Chennai).
You may become a member of the OWC if you are living in Chennai or its vicinity and hold a foreign passport, or if your spouse holds a foreign passport. We are a very diverse group: members currently hale from 28 different countries!
Our club year begins on April 1st and ends on March 31st of the following year. There is an annual subscription fee of Rs.1,000 to be renewed each year and a one-time registration fee of Rs. 500. These fees are used mainly for administration costs, i.e. the printing and mailing of the monthly newsletters and other related expenditures. The fee charged at each general meeting covers the cost of the hall rental, A/V equipment, snacks and refreshments.
